English Exam Trends

How primary English tutors view the recent examination trends?

In view of the primary English syllabus implemented in 2015, more emphasis has been placed on confidence building, competent communication and proficient writing. Mastery of the English language has to be achieved by undergoing active class participation. Examination questions, particularly the listening and speaking components, are increasingly based on real world scenarios that students are likely to encounter at a personal level. As such, the primary English tuition programme will prioritize on drawing comparisons to personal experiences so students will be familiarized with such changes. It also serves to help students achieve more effective memory retention of vocabulary and grammar structures. A thematic teaching approach is also adopted to prepare students for the different examination questions that can be tested.
